In
an amazing mushing feat, musher Hans Gatt built on his
2003 and2002 wins, and completed the 2004 Quest in a
Fairbanks to Whitehorse record of 10 days, 18 hours and
48 minutes. Gatt used the new Eagle Pack ULTRA Power
Pack Formula in each of the 3 years. Amazingly, Martin
Buser won the 2002 Iditarod with the fastest time ever,
and he too was using the ULTRA Formula, which was
introduced that year.
In a brief interview with Eagle Pet Products staff
veterinarian, Dr. Al Townshend, GATT stated, “During the
first half of the race temperatures were –45 to 50
degrees, (and I fell on the ice and broke my wrist), so
I fed ULTRA and beaver. During the second half I fed
Eagle Pack ULTRA and snacked the dogs with mostly fish
but no beaver. Eagle was essential for winning the race,
and not just during the race. I fed Eagle Power

Martin Buser won the 2002 Iditarod race in 8 days, 22 hours and 46

Martin's son Nikolai
was awarded Best Rookie in the 2003 Jr. Iditarod.
Both sons, Nikolai and younger brother Rohn,
participated in this year's Jr. Iditarod, which was
completed on February 29th. Rohn finished 4th and
Nikolai finished in 5th place.
Rohn was awarded the 2004 Rookie of the Year
title.
