Meat Meals
From USDA Passed
Meats
Chicken Meal
Originates
in facilities handling chicken for our dinner table. Our Chicken Meal
has passed USDA inspection and is
antibiotic free and has no added hormones. It is an excellent source of
Omega 6 fatty acids, a natural coat and skin conditioner.
Pork
-
Pork is the most consumed meat in the world.
-
Pork has a higher digestibility than beef, chicken or lamb.
-
There are more calories per pound (2825) than beef, chicken, fish or
lamb.
-
There is an excellent amino acid profile.
-
It
is a unique protein source and therefore
hypoallergenic.
-
Pork is very palatable.
-
It is one of only two
meats naturally high in L-Carnitine (Linus Pauling
Institute)
Pork Production
-
Pork produced in the US is 31% leaner than it was twenty years ago.
-
Over 100,000,000 pigs are raised in the US each year.
-
Production is no longer a back yard business.
-
Commercial operations are as efficient as possible so as to reduce
overhead.
-
Parasites, especially Trichinosis, are
virtually non existent in the US hog
industry today (Center of Disease Control).
-
Trichinosis is easily killed by heat (137 degrees F). Eagle’s
extrusion temperatures are 210 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
Our pork meal contains only 11% fat, about the same as our fish meal.
Lamb Meal
Our lamb meal
is imported. The sheep are free range and grass fed. Lamb Meal is a
hypoallergenic ingredient and is used in several of our hypoallergenic
formulas.
Anchovy and Sardine Meals
(low ash / low magnesium)
The meals used in Eagle Pack formulas are harvested from pure, cold, Antarctic
Ocean waters and put on ice. We buy a special premium grade that is
cooked at moderate temperatures. Regular meals are cooked to almost
burning temperatures, which greatly reduces nutrient values. Our darker
fleshed fish are high in Omega 3 fatty acids, so beneficial to coat and
skin health and the best DHA source. “Whitefish” (not used in Eagle Pack formulas), is a generic
name for a number of species of white fish used in some brands. The
species will vary bag-to-bag, formula-to-formula. They have minimal
Omega 3 fatty acid levels. The nice white meat from whitefish go to the
fish counter at your super market. The boney skeleton and head
that's left goes to other pet food plants. Bone contributes to
high ash levels. We use the meat from the Anchovy and Sardine, so
ash amount is low. Most fish meals are preserved with ethoxyquin; our meal is preserved naturally.
(DOT and CG permits on file)
Duck Meal
A protein rich, hypoallergenic meal. If you
appreciate the natural, holistic approach to nutrition, you will
appreciate how these ducks are raised. Use of medications of any kind
are highly unusual. No hormones are added.

* Is used as a hypoallergenic ingredient in several formulas.
We don't dilute our meat
ingredients with water.
We use a very concentrated form of meats known as meals,
which are 11 times more protein-concentrated than "meat".
Foods that list "real chicken/beef" or chicken/beef first include
the water weight in this ingredient. Chicken/beef in this form consists
of 70% water.

removed, your pet is getting 70% less "chicken" than you were led to
believe. Note that four grain products, and by-products are now listed ahead of
