Many of our ingredients have doubled in price. Corn is at an 11 year
high and rice is at an all time record high. These high grain prices
in turn affect our chicken, lamb, duck, and pork prices, as grain is a
major feed ingredient in all of their diets. There are many factors to
blame including poor harvests, low inventory, rising fuel costs,
demand overseas and the ethanol alternative fuel boom. We do not see
any relief in sight. Our only alternative would be to source lower
quality ingredients, which we know would be detrimental to the
performance of our products.
